RSS is arguably the best way to keep up to date with fresh content from your favourite sites. Most websites, podcasts, blogs and publishing platforms have RSS feeds. For example, TechCrunch, AfroTech and The New York Times all have feeds you can subscribe to. We’ve outlined below the easiest ways to find feeds from your favourite publications.
If you see the RSS icon on a webpage, this is an indication the website has a feed you can subscribe to. Clicking on it will direct you to the URL of the feed.
Sometimes instead of using the RSS icon above, a site will have a button or a label called ‘RSS’ or ‘Feed’ – this will be a link to their feed.
Most publishing platforms have RSS feeds built in.
For example:
WordPress sites: www.yourwordpresswebsite.com/feed
Medium users: www.medium.com/feed/@yourusername
Medium publications: www.medium.com/feed/yourpublicationname
Substack: www.yoursubstackpublication.com/feed
Tumblr: www.yourtumblrsite.com/rss
Blogger: www.yourbloggersite.com/posts/default
Dev.to: www.dev.to/feed/username
